Food

Piyorin
A local specialty at the Nagoya Station

Piyorin, a popular sweet found at the JR Nagoya Station, is a chick-shaped custard pudding created in July, 2011. Custard pudding is wrapped in Bavarian cream, which is made from Nagoya-cochin (a special local breed chicken) egg. The Bavarian cream is then covered by a crumbed sponge cake. Since they are all made by hand, every chick has a unique shape and face. When you shake the pudding filled body, it shakes and moves like a real chick. Piyorin is available for purchase at the Café Gentiane inside the JR Nagoya Station.
