SpotKonya-cho

Around the eastern side of the Nakatsu River there are some historical buildings of interest, including Kamasada famous for Nambu Tekki cast ironware, Moriku Shoten, a shop dealing in bamboo baskets and strainers and nicknamed "Gozakyu" by locals, and Himekuri showcasing craftworks of artists who live in Iwate. Nambu Tekki ironware may be a good souvenir. This area, Konya-cho, flourished based on its dyeing industry in the past. In those days many warehouses lined the street, but only one remains now. Issaryo is a gallery and café using a renovated warehouse.
