SpotOmori Shell Mound

Edward Morse, an American zoologist, discovered a shell mound when looking out the window of the train he was riding from Omori to Shinagawa in 1877. A number of earthenware, stoneware, shells and animal bones thought to be from the Jomon era (about 3,000 years ago) were excavated from the site of Omori Shell Mounds.
