Weekly Column Kanda This and That 314

ReleaseApril 11, 2019

Thank you for coming back.

Last weekend, I was proceeding along Chuo-dori Street towards Nihonbashi for shopping. About halfway between Kanda Station and Mitsukoshi Department Store, I noticed a big shiny building at the intersection near Shin-Nihombashi Station! I looked up and read “COREDO Muromachi Terrace.” A new COREDO near Kanda! It was a bit of a surprise that Nihonbashi’s stylish Mitsui Group area has been expanding this much. But it is very welcome to have a new fun place in my neighborhood.

The building, called “Nihombashi Muromachi Mitsui Tower,” will have an office area from the 5th to 25th floors and a commercial area “COREDO Muromachi Terrace” on the 1st and 2nd basement floors, along with a hall on the floor between the office and commercial areas. The main feature of the commercial area is “Eslite Spectrum,” a complex select store from Taiwan, which has been chosen as one of the “14 coolest department stores in the world.” Well, to be honest, I am more interested in the 25 restaurants and cafes to be the tenants, such as the first branch in Japan for Napoli pizza restaurant and the first branch in the Kanto region for an inari sushi restaurant. I’ve got to check them out! The building will open on September 27, well, not for a while…, but it happens to be my birthday! I am not that young to get excited about my own birthday, but this year I can look forward to this day.
