Writer: Hanae, who is into glamping
Have you been feeling the recent increase in enthusiasm for outdoor activities? Especially along with the spread of COVID-19 infections, the demand is rapidly increasing for camping, where you can enjoy nature while avoiding the “three Cs.”
Among other outdoor activities, glamping (from “glamorous” and “camping”) has been increasingly popular. I will introduce “THE FARM,” a facility where even beginners of camping and outdoor activities can enjoy glamping casually. I heard of its reputation and visited it.
The huge grounds set in grand natural surroundings are almost equivalent to the area of two Tokyo Domes! The place is filled with fun activities that people of all ages can enjoy, including glamping, farming experience, and a natural onsen hot spring facility.
THE FARM’s recommended point No. 1: “various kinds of glamping”
THE FARM offers various kinds of glamping for different purposes. For different groups of people, such as families, friends, and couples, and different situations, you can find the kind of glamping best for you at THE FARM.
This time, I stayed at “Family Suite.”
The spacious tent is perfect for staying with your family or friends. Up to five people can stay, so it is recommended for those who want to enjoy glamping in a relatively large group.
There are many other kinds of glamping. Grand Terrace is the highest-grade room available, only one per day. It is like a gorgeous secret base.
“Forest” is the one, as the name suggests, where you can enjoy luxury camping in a private space in the woods.
THE FARM’s recommended point No. 2: “All kinds of of hands-on activities”
THE FARM offers many hands-on activities, with which beginner campers and even children won’t get bored.
Fun camping always involves BBQ.
If you are an outdoors beginner, you may feel it a bit too much work to prepare BBQ and clean up after that. But THE FARM prepared fresh food ingredients for my BBQ, and it was very easy to clean up.
In addition to BBQ, you can enjoy many other activities, such as ziplining, canoe touring, and candle making.
One of the highlights is a vegetable harvesting experience.
You can harvest various kinds of vegetables throughout the year and you can enjoy learning how to grow vegetables easily even if you have never had any farming experience.
THE FARM’s recommended point No. 3: “Full-fledged natural onsen facility available even during glamping!”
What surprised me the most is that I could bathe in a natural onsen during my glamping! It is surely one of the best parts of THE PARM.
The drop-in onsen facility at THE FARM, “Karin no Yu,” offers a healing space with an open-air bath, inside bath, and sauna in a building in a kominka old folk house style.
The onsen warms up and heals your body after lots of activities.
I imagine many people feel stressed out in this current situation where we feel constrained not to go out freely due to the global pandemic. Here, surrounded by nature, you can experience the relaxing luxury of a retreat not available in an urban area.
