“JR EAST PASS,” a discount ticket sold by JR EAST, enables you to visit many kinds of unique snow resorts. Let’s go to snow resorts this winter!
1. Nozawa Onsen Snow Resort
One of the oldest snow resorts, where you can enjoy both skiing and hot springs. It has a wide variety of 36 courses. A convenient free shuttle bus between the hot spring town and the slopes operates every day.

2. Hakuba Happo-One Snow Resort
A snow resort that has a more than 1,000-meter dierence of elevation. At the 1998 Nagano Olympic Winter Games, it was the alpine ski slope course venue for Downhill, Super Giant Slalom skiing, and Combined.

3. Karuizawa Prince Hotel Snow Resort
A close-to-station snow resort to that it takes only one minute from Karuizawa Station by shuttle bus. You can also enjoy shopping at an outlet mall or hot springs after skiing, feeling like you are in a resort.

4. Tazawako Snow Resort
A snow resort by Lake Tazawa, where you can enjoy a wonderful view from ski areas. Good quality of snow is also a feature of the resort. Some nice hot springs are scattered about in the surrounding area too.

5. Appi Snow Resort
A Snow resort that is famous for the best quality of snow and thorough maintenance for slopes. It has more than 10 long slopes.

6. Yamagata Zao Onsen Snow Resort
A big snow resort, known for beautiful soft rimes. Zao Onsen, a hot springs resort at the foot of mountain, is known for its highly acidic water. You can enjoy skiing and hot springs at the same time.
Direction: 40 minutes by bus from Yamagata Station (Yamagata Shinkansen)
7. Shizukuishi Snow Resort
A snow resort that has full-edged pistes, where the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships were held in 1993. Also best for family as it oers free lift pass for elementary school kids.

8. Yuzawa Kogen Snow Resort
Travel to the ski area at an altitude of about 1,000 meters by one of the world’s largest cable cars, carrying up to 166 people. You can see the magnicent scenery below and enjoy the open environment. You can enjoy hot springs nearby after skiing.

9. ALTS Bandai Snow Resort
One of the largest ski resorts in the Tohoku region that has 29 slopes in a broad area. It has a reputation for good restaurants.

JR EAST PASS
Valid train routes for JR EAST PASS are JR East Lines, Tokyo Monorail, Izu Kyuko Line, Hokuetsu Kyuko Line etc, including Shinkansen. You can choose any ve days within 14 days of issuance, including the day of issuance (exible ve-day pass). Prices are 22,000 yen for adults, and 11,000 yen for children.
