Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Iwate Snow Festival takes place at Shizukuishi. From Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, 2017 as a Lunar New Year celebration, kamakura (snow hut) restaurants and mini snow sculptures will be enjoyed before the main festival opens.
