琵琶湖座落於滋賀縣，並以面積勇冠日本為傲，環繞其外圍一圈的自行車道通稱為「BIWAICHI」，與島波海道並列獲選為「國家（級）自行車道」。這雖然是環行一圈約200公里的自行車兜風路線，但道路多半平坦，無論是老練的自行車騎士，還是今後即將開始嘗試自行車兜風的新手，這條路線都值得推薦！如果是慣於騎乘長距離的騎士，1天也能騎完全程。不過，更推薦您花上兩天一夜或三天兩夜好好地感受此地。途中有史蹟、風光明媚的景點，以及溫泉等等，眾多名勝不容錯過。還可以依照時間與體力，選擇僅環行琵琶湖大橋北側（北湖，約150公里）或南側（南湖，約50公里）的路線。此外，距離琵琶湖稍遠，也有11條周遊各地區名勝的「BIWAICHI PLUS」路線，暢遊方式繽紛多元。If you are used to cycling for a long distance, it won’t be too hard to go through the course in one day. However, you may want to take a bit more time, from one-night and two-days to two-night and three-days to fully enjoy the course. ere are lots of places that are too good to pass by along the course, such as historical sites and spots with gorgeous views. Depending on the time available and your stamina, you can choose to cycle either on the north side Hokko (North Lake), about 150km, or the south side Nanko (South Lake), about 50km. ere are also 11 cycling courses, called “BIWAICHI PLUS,” visiting sights in the surrounding areas a little distance away from the lake.
