Momo, a high school girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens and has psychokinetic powers, and Okarun, an occult-maniac boy who doesn’t believe in ghosts, face various bizarre unnatural phenomena in this series. With Shion Wakayama playing the voice of Momo and Natsuki Hanae playing the voice of Okarun, this series depicts occult battles during their adolescence. As a commemoration project for the 15th anniversary since the first broadcast, the movie adap-tation of the series with a completely new story will be released. The sto-ry is set in “Ooku” filled with swirling passions and emotions of women, where the official wives and concubines of the shoguns of the Tokugawa government and housemaids serving them resided. A mystery man called “Medicine Seller” uses “Taima no Ken,” a sword of exorcism, to rescue rag-ing passions and emotions in the shapes of mononoke specters. The director, Kenji Nakamura, also directed the TV anime series, as well as other unique works, such as “Kuuchuu Buranko,” “C,” “Tsuritama,” and “Gatchaman Crowds.” The voice of the Medicine Seller is played by Hiroshi Kamiya.
