Manhole covers featuring artwork from popular manga published by Kichijoji-based publisher Coamix, including “Fist of the North Star” and “City Hunter,” can be found in various locations around the north exit of Kichijoji Station. Now in its 41st year, this festival is one of the city’s most iconic celebrations of that musical culture. During the event plazas in front of the station, shopping streets, and commercial spaces turn into live performance venues, filling the neighborhood with music and energy.
