KOKO HOTEL opens in Namba, the heart of Osaka!
KOKO HOTEL Osaka Namba Sennichimae
KOKO HOTEL, already found in major cities throughout Japan, now has a new location in Namba, Osaka.
Recently, I had a chance to stay at this just-opened spot for a firsthand look at its finer points.
(Subway Exit)
Underground passages connecting two stations provide access that is almost completely sheltered from the weather, with Osaka Metro Namba Station just a 5-minute walk, and Osaka Metro Nippombashi Station only 60 seconds away on foot.
The hotel has two towers: Main and Residence (annex). Guests can choose the one that best suits their needs, whether the simple, sophisticated comfort of the Main Tower, or the highly functional Residence Tower rooms with kitchens and washing machines.
Check-in is in the Main Tower. From toner to toothbrushes, the amenity station in the lobby is stocked with everything you need for a great stay, plus added touches for extra relaxation, including drip coffee, tea, bath salts and more!
A sophisticated sense of design runs through the Main Tower where I stayed, topped off with room keys made of wood that gave me a real sense of warmth. Once inside the spacious comfortable room, I felt at peace even in the heart of the city.
The desk and high-speed wi-fi made it easy to do some quick research and writing. The tablet on the desk is convenient to look up tourist spots and restaurants recommended by the staff.
Residence Tower rooms offer all the functionality of home, with a washing machine, kitchen, and dining table. This is perfect not only for long-term stays and large groups (sleeps up to eight), but also for those who want to keep up their lifestyle routines even while abroad, or travelers who really want to experience what it’s like to live in Japan.
Rooms come with all you need to whip up a meal, including a refrigerator, frying pan, and set of cutlery.
After leaving my things in the room, I headed out right away to wander through Namba.
The location is a great point about KOKO HOTEL, just steps away from Osaka’s major attractions, including Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, and Shinsekai.
Near the hotel, the Aiaubashi-suji Shopping Street was bustling with people weaving past the historical eateries.
The entrance to the underground shopping mall Namba Walk is also just around the corner. Osaka specialties such as kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), takoyaki (octopus balls), and okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) are among the gastronomical pleasures here, along with a full assortment of drugstores and fashion retailers.
From dining to shopping to souvenirs, you’ll have no trouble finding what you desire during your stay among this staggering gamut of goods.
From the hotel, stroll south for just seven minutes into the culinary extravaganza of Kuromon Market to feast on everything from seafood to wagyu beef.
Continue a bit further and you hit the neon-lit jungle of Dotonbori, bursting with Osaka’s renowned dynamic energy.
The city’s shining symbol, Tsutenkaku Tower, is also close at hand. Retro cafes, shooting ranges, and little shops turn the streets into a memory lane filled with nostalgia from Showa era (1926-1989).
The breakfast buffet offers a rich variety of dishes ranging from Japanese to Western cuisine. Kushikatsu, nikusui (sliced beef and green onion soup), and other local Osaka treats are also here, so you can start the day with a hearty meal.
One surprising treat was the bread toppings. Unique ingredients like teriyaki chicken and tuna corn mayo were on display, and the crisply toasted bread combined with the savory toppings created a perfectly balanced flavor. Allergy information is also clearly displayed for each dish, so vegetarians and vegans can enjoy meals with complete peace of mind.
From the comfortable rooms, central location near the station, and a scrumptious breakfast, KOKO HOTEL Osaka Namba Sennichimae has a lot to offer. This might be the ultimate base for your trip to Osaka.
