Experience the Local Bounty with Seasonal Fruit Picking: Strawberries, Blueberries, and Edamame (Sanda City)
Located in Sanda City, Nagashio Farm was once a rice field before being transformed into a thriving farm. Here, you can enjoy seasonal fruit picking, including blueberries, figs, and the famous Tamba black edamame. Among them, strawberry picking is especially popular from December to June!
A Giant Strawberry Welcomes You!
As you make your way from the entrance to the farm’s strawberry-picking reception, you’ll be greeted by a giant strawberry sculpture!
It’s the perfect spot for a commemorative photo. You’ll also find other photo spots around the farm, so be sure to keep an eye out!
After checking in, step into the greenhouse, where a vast field is home to a variety of strawberry cultivars. The strawberry-picking season runs from December to June, with different varieties available depending on the time of year.
Enjoy All the Strawberries You Want!
Before you begin, you’ll receive a brief explanation of the strawberry-picking rules.
In the gathering area, you’ll also find a 2D code that allows you to check the rules on your device.
After the explanation, it’s time to start strawberry picking! You’ll pick strawberries in a designated area inside the greenhouse. With a 30-minute time limit, you can enjoy as many as you like.
The strawberries are sweet and slightly tangy—so delicious that you won’t be able to resist reaching for another!
If you want to change up the flavor, the shop sells condensed milk and chocolate sauce!
I wondered if it might be too sweet, but it turned out to be a perfect match with the chocolate sauce.
When we visited in mid-December, the strawberry-picking season had just begun, so there were still many unripe berries. However, with such a vast farm and plenty of strawberries grown, there were still more than enough to enjoy.
On that day, we experienced a strawberry-picking activity where you can only eat the berries inside the greenhouse. But there’s also an option to harvest strawberries without eating them on-site. While you can’t eat them inside the greenhouse, you can take them home for 300 yen per 100 grams.
A Great Selection of Souvenirs!
In addition to seasonal harvest experiences, the farm also sells a variety of processed goods. You’ll find jams and ice cream made with strawberries, blueberries, figs, and more—perfect for souvenirs! These products are available not only at Nagashio Farm but also at nearby cafés and the Akamatsu Parking Area (outbound) on the Chugoku Expressway.
Strawberry picking is extremely popular, so reservations are a must! You can book your spot online through the farm’s website. Since the available fruit-picking experiences vary by season, be sure to check the website for details.
