WITCHWATCH

The magical comedy manga series with a chimerical story being published in “Weekly Shonen Jump” was finally made into a TV anime series. The original manga was created by Shinohara Kenta, known for “SKET DANCE” and “ASTRA LOST IN SPACE.” WITCHWATCH describes a story of a high-school student with the power of oni demon, Otogi Morihito, who begins living with his friend from childhood Nico, a witch-in-training, as her familiar spirit. Nico’s magical spells cause unexpected troubles, leading to the beginning of his magical days. While filled with lots of funny comedy elements, the story incorporates various attractive points, such as serious developments including fierce battles and romantic relationships among characters, making everyone get trapped in the series!

The TV series is scheduled to air every Sunday at 5:00 PM starting April 2025 for two consecutive runs (six months) on the MBS/TBS network, which includes 28 stations nationwide.

The Summer Hikaru Died

Winning the first prize in the 2023 edition of Takarajimasha’s “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” list of best manga for male readers and going viral on social media, the popular series has finally been made into a TV anime series under the same title. Two boys, Yoshiki and Hikaru, grew up together in a small village. Yoshiki has realized that Hikaru is not the boy Yoshiki has known but has been replaced by “something else.” At the same time, strange things were happening to the village.

The series is based on the youth horror manga by Mokmok Len run in “Young Ace Up.” It will be available through exclusive international distribution on Netflix and free exclusive streaming on ABEMA, starting from the summer of 2025.

Movie “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A lonely dragon wants to be loved”

The latest anime movie by Kyoto Animation, which produced blockbuster movies such as “A Silent Voice” and “Violet Evergarden: The Movie.” This long-awaited movie version following the TV anime series in 2017 and 2021 is a heartfelt comedy depicting the lives of dragon girls and Miss Kobayashi, a company worker.

The original is a popular manga series by Coolkyousinnjya, which is currently published in “Manga Action” magazine. This movie version is about the story of one of the popular characters, Kanna. Scheduled for release in 2025.

Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc

Black Butler is a popular manga series attracting fans all over the world with an intricately-crafted beautiful view of the world and various characters. The original manga series by Toboso Yana has been made into an anime series and theatrical versions, expanding itself into various areas. From April 2025, the long-awaited anime series “Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc” is scheduled to be aired on TV.

The main characters are Sebastian Michaelis, a butler serving for the Phantomhive Family, a distinguished noble family in England in the 19^th century, and Ciel Phantomhive, a 13-year-old boy, the current head of the house. This series will revolve around them trying to solve mysterious incidents happening in Germany.

YAIBA: Samurai Legend

The original “YAIBA” is a popular manga series by Aoyama Gosho, who created the “Detective Conan” series. Serialized in “Weekly Shonen Sunday” from 1988 to 1993, this manga series is a story of a samurai boy, Kurogane Yaiba, who aims to be the world’s best swordsman, training hard in a jungle with his father, Kenjuro. His fate starts to unfold when he returns to Japan and encounters his destined rival, Onimaru Takeshi.

The anime version of this series produced by WIT STUDIO and the voice of the main character, Kurogane Yaiba, is performed by one of the most famous voice actors in Japan, Takayama Minami. It is scheduled to be aired on the nationwide Yomiuri TV/ Nippon TV group network at 5:30PM on Saturdays from April 2025 (except for some regions).

mono

The manga series “mono” by Afro, who contributed to the camping boom in Japan with another series, “Laid-Back Camp,” is going to be made into a TV anime series, scheduled to be aired from April 2025. The story revolves around high-school girls, who belong to a “Cine-Photo club” based on the fusion of a photography club and a film study club, describing “how to enjoy the weekend.” Using various kinds of techniques, including 360-degree panoramic camera shooting and a camera tied to a kite to make it serve as something like a drone, the girls capture views around Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and moments within their daily lives. Just like the “Laid-Back Camp” series, “mono” is expected to bring excitement to Yamanashi Prefecture as a “sacred site.”

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX

This latest version of the “Gundam” series has been produced through the first-ever collaboration between Studio Khara, the producer of the “Evangelion” series, and Sunrise, the producer of the “Gundam” series. The director is Tsurumaki Kazuya, who directed the “Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition / Rebuild of Evangelion” series, and one of the script writers is Anno Hideaki. Preceding the TV series, scheduled to be aired in 2025, “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-,” a theatrical reconstructed version using selected episodes from the series, has been shown at theaters from January 17. There are already high expectations for the TV series among fans, leading to lots of speculation and analysis on social media.

Story：

Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.Under the entry name “Machu,” she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.
