For Cherry Blossoms: Maizuru Park, Ohori Park & Nishi Park

Best Time to Visit: Late March to Early April

Centered around the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, Maizuru Park is one of the city’s premier cherry blossom spots. About 1,000 cherry trees bloom throughout the park, and its convenient location near the downtown area makes it especially popular during hanami season. Adjacent to Maizuru Park, Ohori Park is beloved for its scenic blend of water and greenery, offering a relaxing atmosphere for visitors and locals alike.
About a 15-minute walk from Ohori Park, Nishi Park is the only site in Fukuoka Prefecture selected as one of Japan’s “Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots.” Here, you can admire around 1,300 cherry trees in full bloom.

For Nemophila: Uminonakamichi Seaside Park

Best Time to Visit: Early April to Late April

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is a vast national park surrounded by the sea. Fields of nemophila bloom like a blue carpet, creating a truly breathtaking view. Other seasonal flowers, including mustard flowers and tulips, add vibrant color throughout the park. In early April, you may even be able to enjoy the rare sight of nemophila blooming alongside cherry blossoms.

Nokonoshima Island, located in Hakata Bay, is a nature-rich island with a circumference of about 12 km. On the island’s northern side, Nokonoshima Island Park offers around 30 varieties of seasonal flowers throughout the year, set against a beautiful ocean backdrop. From early April to mid-May, vibrant Livingstone daisies bloom in mosaic-like patterns across the fields, creating a truly spectacular sight. Just a 10-minute ferry ride from Fukuoka City, it’s a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city.
