Sunset in Aguni Island

Do you remember the last time you saw a beautiful sunset? Do you have favorite places to see the sunset? There are many places famous for the sunset in Japan and Aguni Island in Okinawa is among them.

Sunset in Aguni Island

As the sun is setting over the sea horizon, the sky glows orange; the only sound is a quiet wave sound. Finally, the sun sets between distant Tonaki and Kume islands, and the sky and ocean start to darken. The symphony created by nature continues for about 30 minutes. This for me was a time that I enjoyed a comforting feeling from the beauty of nature.

Aguni Island is a small island with a 12-km circumference about 60 km northwest of Okinawa’s main island. It is a place where the movie “Nabbie’s Love” was filmed and also famous for its natural salt “Aguni salt.” Tera is a limestone cave and considered to be a sacred place. Visiting a salt factory, walking along the beach, and touring around the island are enjoyable during daytime. You may see wild goats when strolling. If you want a healing and peaceful time, Aguni Island is a place where you should visit.
