KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari is a newly opened hotel in Chiba’s Kaihin Makuhari area.
Conveniently located for visitors attending events at Makuhari Messe, it has attracted attention as a new accommodation option. I recently stayed there to experience it firsthand. Here’s what I found.
Excellent Location, Just a 1-Minute Walk from JR Kaihimmakuhari Station
┃The hotel’s location was the first thing that impressed me.
Just a one-minute walk from JR Kaihimmakuhari Station, it’s so close that you can even see it from the station platform. After a concert or event at Makuhari Messe, it’s a real advantage not to have to carry your luggage for a long distance. The hotel is also directly connected to Tokyo Station and Tokyo Disney Resort via the JR Keiyo Line, making it a convenient choice for families traveling with large suitcases or strollers. Even on a rainy day, I was able to reach the hotel with hardly any exposure to the rain.
There is also a direct airport bus between JR Kaihimmakuhari Station and Narita Airport, making the hotel a convenient place to stay either on the day you arrive in Japan or the night before your departure.
Refresh in the Large Public Bath with a Sauna
┃One of the hotel’s highlights is its spacious public bath.
The large bath is perfect for stretching out and relaxing, and there’s also a sauna. Another nice touch is the use of showerheads and hair dryers from the popular beauty brand ReFa. After a day of travel and sightseeing, the hot bath and sauna were the perfect way to unwind. Unlike the unit bath in the guest room, being able to soak in a spacious public bath made the stay even more enjoyable.
Relax with Ice Cream and Drinks After Your Bath
┃After your bath, be sure to stop by the relaxation area next to the public bath.
You can enjoy ice cream and drinks there, and the cold ice cream tasted especially refreshing after a hot soak. It’s a welcoming space where families, couples, and solo travelers alike can relax.
A Satisfying Western-Style Breakfast Buffet
┃The next morning, I enjoyed the hotel’s Western-style breakfast buffet.
The highlights were the Eggs Benedict and pancakes.
The freshly prepared Eggs Benedict featured a perfectly runny poached egg paired with a rich sauce, while the pancakes were light and fluffy. It was a wonderful way to start the day. The buffet also offered a wide selection of classic breakfast dishes, making it easy to enjoy a satisfying meal. If you’ve had your fill of Japanese cuisine and seafood during your trip, this Western-style buffet is a welcome alternative.
Relax in Your Room with Your Favorite Streaming Services
┃After breakfast, I spent a relaxing morning in my room before checking out. Another nice feature was being able to watch streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix on the TV.
With reliable Wi-Fi, all I had to do was sign in to my own account to enjoy my favorite shows. The room’s stylish, modern design also created a relaxing atmosphere. It was a small but welcome pleasure to continue watching a favorite series while traveling.
Convenient Facilities for Longer Stays
┃The lobby floor is equipped with a currency exchange machine, allowing you to exchange money whenever you need.
The hotel also has a coin laundry, making it convenient for longer stays or whenever you need to do your laundry. Attention to these practical details is another feature that makes this hotel so appealing.
Easy Access to a Park, Outlet Mall, Japanese Garden, and Beach
┃The hotel’s convenient location offers more than just easy access to the station.
Right next to the hotel is a spacious park, perfect for a morning walk or a relaxing break. On the south side of JR Kaihimmakuhari Station is MITSUI OUTLET PARK MAKUHARI, while the north side is home to a variety of restaurants, making shopping and dining easy. A little farther away, you can also visit a tranquil Japanese garden and a beach overlooking Tokyo Bay.
It’s an excellent base for enjoying sightseeing, shopping, and nature all in one trip.
Conclusion
With its excellent location right in front of JR Kaihimmakuhari Station, a spacious public bath with a sauna, a relaxing lounge, a satisfying breakfast buffet, in-room access to streaming services, a currency exchange machine, and a coin laundry, KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Whether you’re visiting for sightseeing or business, the hotel offers both convenience and comfort, with plenty of shopping, dining, and attractions nearby. If you’re planning a trip to the Makuhari area, it’s well worth considering for your stay.
