Tokyo Tower has long attracted people as a symbol of Tokyo as well as serving as one of the must-see sightseeing spots in Tokyo. Tokyo Tower has just finished the full-scale renovation project that began in September 2017 and reopened on September 26, 2019. “Noppon” was waiting for us at the lobby on the 1st floor!
You can enjoy touching “Noppon” and taking photos with him. Welcome Lounge on the 1st floor of the Foot Town With video images for introducing various aspects of Tokyo Tower projected onto the four walls, you can enjoy looking at the exhibitions of illustrations and models as well as taking photos at a cute photo-spot corner.

In the renovation project, wider windows were installed and the foot-level iron fences below were removed. Therefore, you can enjoy more overwhelming, unobstructed views.

Secret Library Using the audio guide and along with the live commentary by an attendant, you can learn about the history of Tokyo Tower from its beginnings to its completed construction. In this room, there was a surprising event. Join the tour to find out what it is!
On the platform where people wait for the elevator to take them to the Top Deck, you can get a complimentary drink and make use of a photo-taking service. You can get one of the photos taken here for free and if you want you can purchase larger-sized color photos.
When we arrived at the Top Deck, the view had completely changed into the nighttime one. The night view of Tokyo from 250-meters high was just wonderful.
The audio guide supports 13 languages. You can get lots of information, including a description of landmarks in the view, by operating the audio guide with your fingers.
You can switch the display on the audio guide to a night-view mode.
The glittering geometric mirrors and LED illumination create a futuristic space. Lastly, let’s return to the Main Deck and go down to the 1st floor. This area has also been renovated.
The popular “Skywalk Window” has been expanded.
The floor is glittering blue with luminescent stones.
We discovered the hidden Tokyo Tower! There are some other new spots nice for taking photos, including the floor with a design using an optical illusion.
“Café La Tour” on the Main Deck
We came back down to the ground-level earth after fully enjoying ourselves with the great sights of Tokyo from the commanding heights. It is recommended to join the tour just before sunset, so that you can enjoy the day-time cityscape, the view at dusk, and the night view.
