Just a ten-minute walk from JR Tottori Station, Fukurogawa River runs through the heart of Tottori City, with a stunning cherry blossom row stretching for about 2 km. This spot is beloved by locals as a top destination for hanami (cherry blossom viewing).
A walking path that runs alongside the cherry trees forms a wonderful cherry blossom tunnel when in full bloom. At night during the blooming season, the trees are illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere with the cherry blossoms beautifully reflected on the river’s surface.
Additionally, Tottori Castle Ruins and Kyusho Park, located about a 20-minute walk northeast from Fukurogawa River, is another famous cherry blossom spot in Tottori City. In addition to cherry blossoms, Utsubuki Park is also famous for its azaleas in spring. Another must-do activity when visiting Utsubuki Park is exploring the nearby historic district. Thanks to this variety, visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms over an extended period, from late March to mid-April. Adjacent to the cherry blossom area, a spacious lawn provides the perfect spot for a picnic or recreational activities while admiring the flowers.
